SquEEK: How EEK Keeps Customers and Suppliers Updated
How EEK's SquEEK messaging keeps customers and suppliers informed at every step of a wrong fuel recovery in New Zealand.
Putting the wrong fuel in a vehicle is unsettling, but you do not have to manage it alone. EEK Mechanical provides a clear tow-to-workshop recovery process, and SquEEK messaging keeps both customers and suppliers informed as each job moves from vehicle collection to workshop recovery. That means fewer phone calls chasing progress and more confidence about what is happening.
SquEEK updates for customers
Once you contact the customer hotline on 0800 769 000, EEK arranges for a tow truck to collect your vehicle. SquEEK then sends milestone updates as the job progresses, so you know when the tow truck is on its way, when your vehicle has been collected, when it has arrived at EEK's NZIFDA-certified workshop, and when manufacturer-spec fuel system recovery is complete. You can also follow your job through the customer portal at any time.
SquEEK updates for suppliers and partners
Fleet managers, rental operators, dealers, workshops and insurers receive the same clear progress milestones. SquEEK keeps supplier teams aware of collection times, workshop arrival and completion status, which helps them coordinate their own customers, vehicles and claims without chasing updates by phone. Supplier support is available on 09 872 4612, and insurer claims teams can use 09 885 2000.
How the recovery process works
Every road vehicle job follows the same model: a tow truck collects the vehicle from the forecourt, roadside, home or car park, then transports it to EEK's NZIFDA-certified workshop. Manufacturer-spec fuel system recovery happens only at the workshop, never at the collection location. The tow truck's role is collection and transport only; all fuel system work is completed under workshop conditions.
What to do now
If you have put the wrong fuel in your vehicle, do not start the engine. Contact EEK on 0800 769 000 and provide your location, vehicle details and the fuel that went in. EEK will arrange vehicle collection and keep you updated through SquEEK. Recovery is fully itemised, so check the rate card for current pricing. If the engine has been run after misfuelling, let the team know so the workshop can carry out the appropriate checks.
