EEK Recognises Returning Visitors and Offers a Shortcut

Customers who previously visited the misfuel or water-in-oil sections of eek.nz are detected on return and offered a banner to go directly to the service they used before.

No Need to Navigate From the Beginning

A customer who previously used EEK's water-in-oil recovery service and returns to the site after a new incident would typically land on the misfuel homepage — the wrong starting point. EEK now detects returning visitors and identifies which service section they previously visited.

A soft banner appears at the top of the page offering to take them directly to water-in-oil or misfuel, whichever they used before. It is an offer, not a redirect — they can dismiss it and browse normally. But for the returning customer who just needs to book the same service again, it removes several navigation steps.

Design Intentionality

This is deliberately not a forced redirect or a cookie-based page swap that alters what search engines index. It is a purely client-side convenience layer that operates on top of the standard EEK site. The returning visitor gets a faster path to where they need to go. Everything else stays exactly the same. SEO is unaffected. New visitors see nothing different.
